Impetus sprung from a from a vision Jess had way back in 2010, knowing the vision wasn't for that time, she held on to it waiting for God to reveal the perfect time!
Summer 2015 Jess felt really strongly that it was the right timing to share this vision with others after years of praying and seeking, getting this role with the Exmoor Youth Project and working alongside other churches, working with a fab core group of teenagers it seemed right to launch our first event...
we planned a worship night of music, drama, ice-breakers, prayer tents, food and fellowship and it was a great success!
We have had a few events that have thrived and a couple where only a few came, we had a little break during 2016 and then, after a few months of praying and chatting it all through we tried a few different venues (one night over 35 young people and their leaders filled the Sanctuary in Watchet).
Impetus has been thriving for the last 3 years, it's still pretty steady and we usually get around 20 young people at each event, but it is a great opportunity for the young Christians in the area to meet together for fellowship and worship with others outside of their normal youth groups (if they have one)
We also meet together every year in Jan/Feb for our annual winter ball which is always a great success and around 25 young people get together for a social event with lots of food, dancing and karaoke!
